Houston Fiber Fest takes place at The Berry Center in Cypress, Texas, approximately 26 miles northwest of downtown Houston. Whether you’re traveling from out of state or commuting from somewhere in the greater Houston metro area, we offer the following information in an effort to make getting to the festival as easy as possible. AIR TRAVEL
George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is the Houston area’s largest airport and the one that is most convenient to The Berry Center.
The other Houston-area airport is Hobby Airport (HOU). If you fly in here, be aware that you’re arriving on the opposite end of the metro area from the Houston Fiber Fest venue. Expect longer travel times to/from the airport.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS
Set your GPS/navigation for The Berry Center, 8877 Barker Cypress Rd, Cypress, TX 77433.
Turn into the parking lot at the traffic light and enter the building through Entrance Two. The vendor hall is in the arena, the classrooms are in the conference center.
Alternatively, we offer the following general directions, all of which avoid toll roads.
Coming from the East (central Houston, Beaumont and points east)
Via I-10: Take I-10 West to Barker Cypress Rd (Exit 748). Turn right onto Barker Cypress Rd. In approximately 8 miles, The Berry Center will be on your left.
Coming from the West (Seguin, San Antonio, El Paso, and points west)
Via I-10: Take I-10 East to Barker Cypress Rd (Exit 748). Turn left onto Barker Cypress Rd. In approximately 8 miles, The Berry Center will be on your left.
Coming from the Northwest (Brenham, Austin, and points northwest)
Via US 290: Take US 290 East to the exit for Barker Cypress Rd. Turn right onto Barker Cypress Rd. In approximately 3.4 miles, The Berry Center will be on your right.
Coming from the North (Huntsville, Dallas/Fort Worth, and points north)
Via I-45: Take I-45 South to FM 2920 (Exit 70A). Turn right onto FM 2920 West/Spring Cypress Rd. At Holzwarth Rd., turn left and then take the first right to continue on Spring Cypress Rd. In approximately 1 mile, turn left onto Barker Cypress Rd. In approximately 5.3 miles, The Berry Center will be on your right.
Coming from the Northeast (Nacogdoches and points northeast)
Via US59/I-69: Take US 59/I-69 to the I-610 interchange. Use the right lanes to merge onto I-610 West. Continue on I-610 to US 290 (Exit 13A). Keep left to merge onto US 290 West. Continue on US 290 West to the exit for Barker Cypress Rd. Follow the signs for the Barker Cypress Rd South ramp. In approximately 3.6 miles, The Berry Center will be on your right.
GETTING AROUND HOUSTON
TRAFFIC: Houston traffic is legendary, so allow plenty of travel time.
TOLL ROADS: Toll roads sometimes offer the most direct routes for getting around town. However, some of them no longer feature toll booths and do not accept cash. The EZ Tag is the prepaid way to access all the area toll road. See hctra.org for more information.
RIDE HAILING: If you want to get around the Houston area without driving, there are multiple choices in ride hailing services. Uber, Lyft, SuperShuttle, traditional taxi services, and others operate in the Houston area.
PARKING
You’ll find acres and acres of free parking at The Berry Center! If you’re on a tight schedule, it’s smart to add 5 minutes or so to your travel time to allow for getting into the building from your car.
